Who We Are

A running community with a strong social heart

LKHHH is not a race club and not a formal athletics team. It is a welcoming hash community where members and visitors enjoy trail runs, walking routes, fellowship, and the traditional hash circle together.

Our Story in Pekanbaru

Since 1998, Lancang Kuning Hash House Harriers has become part of Pekanbaru's outdoor and social community life. The name “Lancang Kuning” reflects Riau's identity, while the Hash House Harriers tradition connects LKHHH to a worldwide family of hash chapters.

Over the years, LKHHH has grown through the dedication of its members, hares, committee, and friends who help prepare trails, organize Sunday runs, welcome guests, and keep the ON ON tradition alive.

What We Do

Every run is prepared by a hare, who sets the route and leads participants through roads, kampung paths, plantations, trails, or scenic outdoor areas around Pekanbaru. The run is followed by fellowship, refreshments, laughter, songs, and the hash circle.

The aim is simple: stay active, meet people, enjoy nature, and build friendships across generations and backgrounds.

What Is Hashing?

A trail adventure inspired by the “paper chase” tradition

Hashing is a social running and walking activity where participants follow marks or clues laid by the hare. The route may include checks, false trails, shortcuts, and surprises, making every run different and full of fun.

The trail is only half the story.

In hashing, the run is not only about speed. It is about teamwork, humor, discovery, and the shared ON ON spirit. Fast runners, walkers, newcomers, and senior hashers can all be part of the same trail experience.

The Hare The person or team who prepares the trail, sets the route, and creates the adventure for the group.
The Trail A route marked with signs or clues. It may include true trails, false trails, checks, and regrouping points.
The Pack The runners and walkers who follow the trail together, helping one another find the correct way.
The Circle The social gathering after the run, where hashers celebrate, joke, sing, welcome guests, and enjoy fellowship.
Hash History

From Kuala Lumpur to a worldwide hash family

The Hash House Harriers tradition began in Kuala Lumpur in 1938 and later spread across the world. Today, hash chapters can be found in many countries, each keeping the spirit of trail, humor, and friendship in its own local way.

1938

The beginning of Hash House Harriers

Hashing started in Kuala Lumpur as a social running group inspired by a paper-chase style trail. The idea was simple: run, follow clues, enjoy fellowship, and never take the sport too seriously.

Worldwide

A global community

Over time, the Hash House Harriers grew into an international network of chapters. Although every chapter has its own personality, most share the same values: fun, fitness, friendship, hospitality, and the call of “On On!”
